Mindstorms® EV3 - Advanced 
EXPERIENCE: Experienced: Build Complex Kits w/o Assistance; "Free Build" w/o Instructions
PRE-REQUISITE: LEGO MINDSTORMS - Level 1
DURATION: 5 sessions, 1½ hours each session
PRICE: $225 / student CLASS MAX: 10
SYNOPSIS: Focused on complex model engineering and advanced programming, this class allows students to stretch the limits of the EV3 and create fascinating machines to accomplish amazing tasks.
OBJECTIVE: Prepare students for competition and further explore the world of robotics through the expanded use of the Mindstorms® EV3, including additional sensors and motors to create their own solutions to solve complex challenges and perform difficult tasks.
APPROACH: Without the use of step-by-step instructions, students are pushed to truly innovate and stretch their imagination and the limits of the EV3 through carefully selected exercises and challenges. Students are given a series of tasks with increasing difficulty that build on previous learnings to grow their knowledge and experience with engineering and programming. Mindstorms Masters work directly with students in designing, assembling, and programming custom creations to achieve their personal goals while completing carefully mapped challenges that educate and entertain at the same time!
SKILLS ACQUIRED / EDUCATIONAL BENEFIT:
1. Science: robotics and human interactions
2. Technology: programming, fine motor skills
3. Engineering: complex machine construction, gearing, spatial relations
4. Math: logic, sequencing, parameters, attributes
LEGO® TECHNIQUE: Advanced use of LEGO Mindstorms sensors and motors capabilities and attributes, LEGO Mindstorms programming, Mindstorms / Technic integration, advanced programming features of the LabView interface, advanced Technic design and construction.

This class was a good chance to express what was in my mind by using Lego pieces to make anything I wanted. I was glad that we got to build whatever we wanted to.... Mr. Barry was nice, helpful, and if we needed to find a piece he would find it for us. He also gave us lots of tips, including substituting pieces if we ran out. Can't wait until my next class. - AB
My son's favorite store, hands down! He has taken several classes throughout the summer and loved every one of them from the space camp and a technic class to a full week of mindstorm. Dean is always so helpful and positive with the kids and you can tell he loves it just as much as the kids. I was pleasantly surprised to find not only an excellent selection of LEGO sets but the prices are very competitive. - Kris
[My son] really enjoyed the programming and robotics. I would love to see a continuation of that class that he could pursue, building on what he learned with you in the last class. This to me would be an incredible way to keep applying the knowledge learned while building even more knowledge. Then when he does have his own Mindstorms he can truly utilize it. Awesome store for kids of all ages that love Lego. Unique and creative approach to using Lego not just for building things. The classes offered are great - engaging and thought provoking for the age taught. - John_F
